Vineyard Bathroom

A local vineyard wanted to update a bathroom in time for a summer wedding reception. Working with a limited budget and using materials found on-site, we created a simple but elegant bath that served the vineyard’s needs while providing a beautiful and functional space.

Designed and built by Gordon Mandeno, Mandeno Construction used reclaimed redwood and Douglas fir wood beams found on-site, making this project a prime example of using local and recycled materials.

Redwood trim was used throughout the bathroom along with other wood species used to highlight special areas (i.e. door frame and art niche). One example is the reclaimed oak barrel staves used above the custom corner cabinet, turning an otherwise ordinary corner into an attractive art niche.

A custom picture frame, made from an unknown wood species found on-site, was created for a heritage poster that was found in an unused storage space. Period light fixtures were custom made to compliment the new utilitarian and functional space.

Filling that Niche

Bungalow Reading Nook: Sometimes you just need that little bit of extra space to make a room work.

For a home in Sebastopol, creating a functional and clean reading nook was all it took to improve this central living space. Matching exterior and interior trim details, Mandeno Construction created a pop-out reading nook with soffited ceilings, designed to complement the age of the home. The work included a curved, wood-trim opening with built-in shelving and a custom storage cabinet. Window trim, paneling, and opening frame at exceptional, paint-grade trim standards.

Mountain Home

Sometimes, a complete renovation is needed.

Transforming a 1970’s 2-bedroom ranch home into a 3-bedroom, 2-bath two-story mountain retreat can lead to a lot of headaches unless you have the vision and organizational skills to pull it off. Mandeno Construction has proven we have those skills with the attention to detail that will please the most discerning among us.

Using custom pine wood trim throughout the house, cased windows and wainscoting sets this home apart. The hickory wood floors give the home an elegant look while the maple kitchen cabinets complement the blond-colored woods used throughout the home. Travertine tile was installed in the bathrooms with custom details, making it a pleasure to spend time in these spaces.

Outdoor Living

This project involved removing an old deck and replacing it with a new, heart-redwood deck with lattice shirt, metal railing, and custom, wrap-around steps leading down to a landscaped yard.

The wrapped, custom steps were built on-site and designed for an elegant approach as well as practical access.

The underside of the deck was covered with a standard, lattice siding to secure winter storage.

Built on time and within budget.
